NUVEL non-hydrogenated margarine offers real health benefits

Actual proof of Nuvel’s health benefits came in 1995 from the Research Fund of the Montreal Heart Institute (known today as the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation). After studying our product, they declared that Nuvel Non-hydrogenated Margarine represented a better choice for the health than regular margarines.

Nuvel Non-hydrogenated Margarine contains no trans fatty acids and has a high concentration of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, including Omega-3 (linolenic fatty acids).

The health benefits of Omega-3

Omega-3 is important to our general health, but the benefits to the heart particularly stand out. These include Omega-3’s role in the following:

  • reducing triglycerides
  • dilating the blood vessels
  • reducing blood clot formation, and consequently the risk of stroke
  • increasing blood fluidity
  • anti-inflammatory action

Meeting our needs

There are three main sources of Omega-3: plants, fish and supplements.

Plant sources of Omega-3:

  2. Flax, salba or chia seeds
  3. Walnuts

Fish sources of Omega-3:

  1. Oily fish (mackerel, Atlantic salmon, rainbow trout, sardines)
  2. Fish oils
